About your stay
Built in the early 20th century the Hotel Whitcomb is a member of Historic Hotels of America and much has been written about the hotel's "haunted" status. Originally used as City Hall, the renovated and updated bedrooms were once the offices of government officers, including Supreme Court judges, while guests to the hotel can still visit the jail cells in the hotel basement that once housed the city's criminals.
The Victorian decor runs throughout the hotel including cathedral ceilings and Italian marble floors. Modern features blend seemlessly into the hotel with a gym, Starbucks, award-winning restaurant and bar. Centrally located on Market Street in San Francisco, the Orpheum Theater is across the street and Civic Center BART Station is just across the road from the hotel.
