Information on Ramadan

This year Ramadan, which is the holy month of fasting, takes place between May 15 to June 15, 2018. What does that mean for travelling Westerners? Westerners are not expected to obey by the fasting rules, however it is polite to adhere to local customs whenever possible, for example by dressing conservatively when visiting public places and not eating in public during daylight. Usually hotels and resorts however operate as usual, and malls in Dubai have extended their opening hours to about 1am, with restaurants staying open until 2am.

The Fish Hotel is a boutique 4* property, located in Broadway, in the heart of the Cotswolds. Birmingham is about an hour away, and Bristol is 90 minutes. There is a bar and restaurant at the hotel, and we recommend taking to the indoor fireplace for a glass of wine or whiskey. Four different buildings -- The Farmhouse, The Outhouse, Brook House and The Stables -- make up the hotel and there is free Wi-Fi for all guests so you can take plenty of pictures to provide hours of Instagram-envy to all your mates.

Full and continental breakfast is included in the price, with cereals, meats, cheeses and cooked-to-order egg and pancake dishes. There is also a games room with pool table, dart board and board games.
